Custom entrance mat set into pale travertine flooring in a bright contemporary Dubai lobby at morning light

Collection VIII · Mat

The first surface a building offers

Every threshold,
properly dressed.

Entrance, printed, anti-fatigue, washable, gym and wet area matting — cut to the opening, finished at the edge, and specified for the way each position is actually used.

01 · The intent

A mat is architecture, not an accessory.

“You can read a building's standards at its entrance, before anyone says a word.”

Every building has a handful of places where the floor is asked to do something extra — a threshold that meets the street, a counter where someone stands for eight hours, a shower approach that is wet by nine in the morning. A mat is the piece specified for those places. It should be cut to the opening rather than trimmed on site, bound at the edge so it stays flat, chosen for the traffic it will actually take, and quiet enough to belong to the interior around it. Twelve registers follow, from the printed lobby threshold to the drainable wet area run.

Event Mat Logo Mats

Printed matting made for occasions — arrivals, presentations, launches and sporting finishes. The graphic runs across the full surface so a temporary floor still reads as a designed one, and the piece lifts and rolls away when the event is over.

  • Full-surface event graphics
  • Arrivals, launches and finishing areas
  • Laid for the occasion, lifted afterwards
“An event floor is a stage; it should be dressed like one.”

03 · Material library

Six constructions, chosen by position.

A mat is a stack: surface, core and backing. We select each layer for where the mat will sit, then finish the edge so it stays flat for the life of the piece.

  1. 01

    dense nylon

    Entrance-Grade Fibre

High-twist fibre that scrapes and holds soil at the door and recovers after traffic. The default for lobbies and shopfronts.

  2. 02

    custom artwork

    Printed Surface

Graphics, patterns and house emblems printed into the fibre with clean colour edges. Photographic detail on the Vision register.

  3. 03

    cushioned

    Comfort Core

A resilient anti-fatigue layer used within the Comfort registers for standing positions at desks, counters and workstations.

  4. 04

    launder & relay

    Washable Construction

Woven surfaces on flexible backings, made to be lifted, washed and returned without losing shape.

  5. 05

    dense granulate

    Rubber Body

Heavy rubber tile and roll for gyms and service positions, laid flat and finished tight to thresholds.

  6. 06

    perforated

    Open Drainage

Structures that let water straight through for pool surrounds, spa thresholds and changing rooms.

03b · Assurance

Made in Europe, guaranteed in writing.

Made-in-Europe ranges are supported by written product guarantees, with cover varying by construction and intended use.

  • Up to 5 Years

Selected ranges, including Jet-Print Vision and wash+dry Design, carry a five-year product guarantee.

  • Commercial Cover

Other commercial constructions carry product-specific written cover; terms are confirmed with the selected specification.

  • Made in Europe

European-made ranges are supplied and finished to the selected size through our Deira atelier.

04 · The process

From the opening measured to the mat laid flat.

Nearly every mat that curls, creeps or wears early was the wrong size before it arrived. We start with the opening.

  1. 01

    Position & traffic review

We look at where the mat will sit, how the door swings, what the floor finish is and how much traffic or standing time the position takes.

  2. 02

    Construction & size

Surface, core, backing and edge are chosen for that position, and the piece is sized to the opening rather than to a stock rectangle.

  3. 03

    Artwork & sampling

For printed and logo registers we set the artwork to scale and confirm colour on a sample before anything is produced.

  4. 04

    Delivery & laying

Delivered cut, laid flat, and checked at the thresholds. Recessed positions are set into the floor so the mat sits level with the finish.

We will specify the right mat per position.

Door widths, standing positions and a photograph of each threshold are enough for us to begin.
